Inspired by Richmond’s highly successful Go Fish project in 2001, FETCH a Cure’s steel pup sculptures were created as the signature piece of our pet cancer awareness campaign and annual benefit. The sculptures are sponsored by businesses, veterinarian practices and individuals and in partnership with area artists are designed and painted to become community works of art and serve to raise awareness of pet cancer. Funds raised at the benefit go towards the Companions in Crisis program that provides financial assistance to families that cannot afford the life-saving treatments and medication for their pets that have been diagnosed with cancer.
The 2012 Steel Pup Litter will debut at the Easter on Parade event and then will be displayed at various venues leading up to the Pets on Parade Annual Benefit & Auction on June 1st at Plant Zero. Based on prior year’s events, we expect close to 400 in attendance. This casual and fun evening begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by presentation of 2012 FETCH a Cure Awards for ‘Inspiration’ and ‘Awareness’, live auction of the “pups” and other auction packages. Area restaurants provide the evening’s refreshments. Pup Care is also available throughout the evening for your four-legged companions.
Tickets are available for $75 per person and $25 per pet.
