Meet Frisbee, Our Newest Companion in Crisis.

Frisbee Dickens, a seven-year old Golden Retriever,  is in the battle of his life.   He has Histiocytic Sarcoma, a malignant soft-tissue tumor that originates from histiocytic, or white blood cells.

Some breeds, including Golden Retrievers, have a higher incidence of histiocytic disease.

Frisbee’s tumor was detected in his left elbow and so far has shown no signs of spreading to other organs such as lungs, liver or kidneys.  He’s receiving chemotherapy, but palliative radiation therapy and even amputation of the limb could give Frisbee a better prognosis.
