Pets on Parade is FETCH a Cure’s most visible fundraising event and features the steel “pups” that have been on display around town in the months leading up to the event, currently on display at various merchant locations in Carytown. This year, thirteen pup sculptures have been groomed and transformed into works of art by local artists that are sponsored by businesses and individuals. Three of the designed “pups” will be up for auction at the event along with other silent and live auction packages. Bidders can also take home a raw steel pup for their very own custom design. A preview of the “pups” is available on FETCH a Cure’s website.

Proceeds from the tournament and benefit go to support Companions in Crisis, FETCH a Cure’s program that provides financial assistance to families that cannot afford the life-saving treatments and medication for their pets that have been diagnosed with cancer. Last year’s Pets on Parade event, which drew about 300 two-legged and 50 four-legged attendees, raised more $100,000.  Event guests will have the chance to meet some very special animals that are currently battling cancer - Companions in Crisis recipients Chloe, Twizzler, Aida, Shaler, and Kasey.

The evening’s agenda will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Greg McQuade of CBS 6 will welcome the crowd followed by presentation of 2011 FETCH a Cure Awards for ‘Inspiration’ and ‘Awareness’ and live auction of the “pups” and packages.  Pet Care will be available throughout the evening for your four-legged companion.
